Shot Tracker Tool Demo

The Goal:
To create an interactive web-based tool proof-of-concept where the user/stat keeper can record the location of shots in a game (ex. Hockey, Basketball, Soccer, etc.)
Unimplemented Ideas:
1) Real-time shot %
2) Real-time scoring
3) More game surfaces (sports)
4) XML file which loads the home court/field/ice of the home team to add personality and reflect team branding
5) More in-depth game stat tracking
6) Scored Shot icons become active links to highlight video
7) Different icon types (ex. Hockey – Body Checks, Basketball – Dunks, Soccer – Headers)
8) Display only home/away team icon stats
9) Icon types by player as opposed to entire team
Summary:
This project was really fun to do and it was a great learning experience for me. With this project I focused more on my creation and production process and tracking the time it takes in each stage of the process. The process I’m referring to is well known in software design (though some may vary in steps). It’s known commonly as the Application Development process.
I’ve coined the process RADDD or Rad Cubed as the accronym sticks in my head easily. Research. Analysis. Design. Develop. Deploy. Where each has sub phases as well. Overall it was great practice to break down the project into phases and I will focus on this process greatly in my future projects. It really helps to break down the project into smaller parts and it helps greatly with organization and personal focus.
